vrf com1 help

Question asked by VRFuser on Dec 27, 1999
Thanks for the help.

here was my solution

I found the hang up to be the way the supplied CD tried to setup was visa and sicl both.
I already was using a visa driver from national instruments (this is where the conflict was).

I went to web sit  ftp://fcext3.external.hp.com/dist/mxd/p ... index.html
and used the newest download where I have the option to load just the sicl divers and everything went fine.

Scott,

Quite ironic - I've spent all morning trying to configure the HPI/O
Libraries to recognize two
serial ports on two different computers (both Dell PCs running WinNT4.0 and
SP3). I haven't had any luck-
when I try to run the HP I/O Config program to set up the ports, the machine
hangs completely!
You do need to run this utility to install the sicl32.dll and get HP-VEE to
recognize the serial port.
But (for me anyway) the HP I/O Library CD-ROM that comes with VEE just hangs
my machines!

I'm beginning to wonder if there's a conflict with some Y2K update we've
done to SP3 or something!
