Server log returns message: lmgrd.exe died with status 5

Question asked by vhlopez on Mar 14, 2009
When attempting to run an Eagleware License Server, the daemon returns the error message listed below, repeatedly:

10:15:58 (lmgrd) License file(s): C:\Program Files\Eagleware\License\GENESYS.LIC
10:15:58 (lmgrd) lmgrd tcp-port 2700
10:15:58 (lmgrd) Starting vendor daemons ...
10:15:58 (lmgrd) Started eagle (pid 2788)
10:16:13 (lmgrd) Vendor daemon died with status 5
10:16:13 (lmgrd) Since this is an unknown status, lmgrd will
10:16:13 (lmgrd) attempt to re-start the vendor daemon.
10:16:13 (lmgrd) REStarted eagle (pid 2456)

This is due to the port selected being blocked (for example, by the firewall)
Check the ports which FlexLm and the eagle daemon use. Some IT policies may require organizations to have most or all ports to be blocked

Also check how DEP is configured (see DEP post  for further instructions)
