Drawing Coplanar Circuits in LAYOUT

Question asked by ROB_LEFEBVRE on Jun 6, 2003
To draw a coplanar circuit in LAYOUT, the ground plane must be added manually.  This is done by drawing a polygon or polygon around the edge of the board and selecting the POUR option.  Set the "Keep Away" the same as the ground spacing (g).  Set the tolerance to 1/10th the keep away value to give reasonable precision around corners.

Note: If you are using EMPOWER to simulate Coplanar waveguide, use the "SLOT MODE" setting in the EMPOWER layout options to reduce the simulation time.
