Hi there,
I have downloaded a operational amplifier(opa2658) Spice Macromodel from TI website(
http://www-s.ti.com/sc/psheets/sbom061/sbom061.zip)
, and translated(imported) it to ADS using Pspice Netlist Dialect. I setup an simple amplifier circuit and put a SIN signal an input, and do TRANSIENT simulation in ADS, the Vout I got was very small, and I had this message:
Warning detected by HPEESOFSIM during DC analysis `Tran1'.
Circuit converged with at least one device's P-N junction current
exceeding the explosion current and junction has been linearized.
You may want to increase the explosion current in the device model or in
the Options (if the parameter is not given in the model) and resimulate.
You may need to increase Maximum number of warnings under Output tab
in Options to see which devices have been linearized.
Warning detected by HPEESOFSIM during DC analysis `Tran1'.
BJT X1.q11 explosion current exceeded.
Status / Summary
HPEESOFSIM (*) 2003A.300 Apr 9 2003 (built: 04/09/03 22:50:55)
Copyright Agilent Technologies, 1989-2003.
I have tried to download another model for opa847, it was the same thing. I also tried to import as spice3 netlist, it was also the same thing, the Vout was very small. But when I simulated the same circuit using the model for uA741 (from http://www.stanford.edu/class/ee122/Spi ... spice.html) it worked like a charm.
can someone tell my why?
Thanks
David

You may want to check if the opamp models have any series resistances in them. Generally internally inside the model you should have series resistors. If not too much current goes through teh transistor (or diode) and you get the warning message.
Try adding a resistor in series with the voltage source in your circuit. See if that makes a difference. maybe the Opamap needs proper biasing of some sort.
If that doesnt solve the proplem, we may have to look at your simulation setup. Please contact your local tech support office and send them your files.
