Pick-and-place houses often require a file of (x,y) coordinates that locate the centroid of each part on a circuit board. Generating this centroid-file would be simplified if GENESYS had a "pick-and-write" tool. The tool would look like a cross-hairs cursor. Using the tool would consist of positioning it over a part and clicking the mouse button, causing the (x,y) location of the cross-hairs to be written to a text file. The "pick-and-write" tool should have a snap on/off feature.
Do you really want an interactive tool, or it may be just a button, as "bill of materials", creating text file with names of component parts and their locations?
It may include options, as snap(on/off), location(origin, or center), and selected layout objects (circuit components, pads, viaholes, lines, polygons, etc.)
Thank you!
