I'm trying to resolve a HW problem with my 1670 analyzer. The 'Lan Board'
eprom is corrupt, making the LAN option unusable. On my unit,is the LAN
board eprom located on the A3 card at the rear of the instrument? There
is a 28pin PLCC part with the HP # 1820-7730. What is the vendor number
for this part? It appears to have been made by National Semiconductor.
thanks

You don't say which 1670 Analyzer you have. There were at least 4 models (A,D,E,G), but they are all discontinued, and out of the 5 year support life. Some of the board assemblies, and some individual parts are available through the Agilent parts site at www.parts.agilent.com. If you can identify the part number of the board that the LAN EPROM is installed on, you may be able to purchase the board through the site. The assembly partnumbers are usually 5x5 sequences, like 01670-98765
Your only other option would be eBay or a used equipment broker.
I'm sorry that I can't be of more help, but your analyzer is pretty old. The various members of that family were removed from the pricelist between 6 and 10 years ago. We can usually keep parts available for the entire 5 year support life, and quite often past that, as in this case.
