Image Reject Mixers

Situation:  Using the "basic architecture" example as a starting point, I deleted the filter to just have a mixer.  Then I set the sum/difference to 0, and get the plot at the output.  Then I put in 50 db of image rejection, and the output plot does NOT change (i.e. the image is at the same level).  Then I go into the mixer again and set the sum/difference to 1, and plot.  There is no change in the plot for the 3 conditions.
Question, "what is wrong with what I am doing??"  I expect to see the image reduced by the value I put in for the rejection.

Thanks in advance for your help.
