Dear all,
we are using a E4407B connected via GBIP to a XP machine, running "Web Remote Controll" with Apache and Java. Everything works fine.
But we are using it with a few people to change settings via web and want to see the result on a big screen which is directly connected to the VGA output to the analyzer. When someone opens the web-page, the default in "Preferences" for "Instrument Screen" is "Off". (the display is off and the VGA output is constant) So every one has to change it first to "On", which is not really comfortable. And we also want to allow the users in front of the analyzer to change settings, even if someone is connected via web.
Does anyone know how to change the default settings and how to disable the block of the front-panel?
Thanks for your help.
regards
Alexander Wilke

Welcome to the Agilent Forum.
The Web Remote software turns off the instrument display to speed up the transfer rate of the trace data. Turning on the display would slow down the remote update rate. It is not possible to change the default preference for the display. Also, the Web Remote software is continually communicating to the analyzer. Each time the software accesses the analyzer, the analyzer will switch to remote lock-out mode so that the front panel is locked out. If the local user wants to see what’s going on with the analyzer, I recommend using the web browser on the local web server PC to see the Web Remote web page. You can connect up a large VGA monitor to the server PC so that you can easily see the current trace display.
