I am creating a program (SCPI commands) that is to be used with the PXA signal analyzer. This instrument is replacing an older one from another manufacturer. I am going through the existing requirements and trying to map the functionality to this unit.
One reads:
Does the instrument have a convenient way to determine the noise floor without a calculation? If not, has anyone done something like this, maybe point me towards an algorithm?

The PXA analyzer has a feature called Noise Marker that automatically provides a noise marker reading in dBm /Hz.
To turn on the noise marker :
Press Marker Function
Marker Noise
To learn about the Noise Marker, press the green Help key and then the Marker Noise soft key. To exit the help screen, press Cancel (esc) hard key.
