Hi,
I hope someone can help me. I would like to network two spectrum analyzers together with a pc controller. Can anyone recommend a great "how to do it" tutorial? Also what is the problem with the sacrosanct configuration of GPIB dip switches that you're not supposed to touch on the back? How are they supposed to be set? I read the manuals and get conflicting information (all 1's versus just set switch 3 to 1 etc.)
I hooked up an 8566B with a 71902A and punched display and address matrix and did not see 8566B at all -- supposed to be 18 -- just saw address 4, the display. Does this legacy stuff work at all?
I have successfully controlled the 8566B on 18 with a pc usb to gpib controller by Prologix. But can't get any farther.
Thanks for your help.

We recently had an effort a couple years ago to post to the web manuals that were missing. So, if you search for the SA model you are interested in and click on the product page and click on manuals, you should be able to find the programming manual for that instrument. We also have some programming examples posted at www.agilent.com/find/sa_programming
Agilent GPIB adapters support older and newer products. www.agilent.com/find/gpib
Hope this helps -
