I'm measuring channel power on a wireless card with 3 transmit chains using only 1 power meter + sensor and a 3-to-1 power splitter and no attenuator. Each chain is measure at different time - chain-A 1st follow by chain-B and lastly chain-C. After taking into account the insertion loss, the power measure with the power splitter is 1.5dB higher then the power measure without the power splitter. Why am i seeing different measurement even after taking into account the insertion loss for both case? Should i be using power divider?
