ESA Sweep points and Sweep time in FFT Mode

For ESA, when RBW is less than 1 kHz, it uses FFT mode, why we still can set up its sweep time and sweep point? what is its purpose? :?:

To provide a more consistent user interface the ESA allows you to set the sweep time and sweep points in FFT mode, whereas older analyzers had limitations on this. It is necessary to be able to change the sweep time when measuring time-variant signals to ensure that you measure during the on-time of the signal. The analyzer will take care of mapping the FFT points to the number of sweep points you have chosen.
