I just installed firmware o/s PSA 10.5 and following the install guide, i was able to get my laptop to talk and upload the o/s and firmware and it gets to a part where it asks me to restart the e4440a, which i do. but once it boots up it goes in to command prompt and i can't seem to move pass that to start the phase 2 part of the install. i do a boot off flash and it loads up but once it loads the front control panel doesn't function it seems like it locks me out, am i doing something wrong? can someone help me start the 2nd part of the install?
thanks

Once you reboot the PSA, you stop the boot process by pressing a key on the keypad or keyboard connected to the PS2 keyboard port of the PSA. One strategy is to have a keyboard connected and repeatedly press both the back space key on the external keyboard and front panel keypad until the boot stops at the “Main Menu” boot ROM prompt. If the keypad stops the boot and you want to enable the keyboard, you can type “52” and press enter and reboot the analyzer and then press the back space key on the PS2 keyboard.
When you subsequently do a search for bootable devices by either typing “02” from the keypad or external keyboard, the instrument will list the bootable devices. If you don’t see a LAN device to boot from and only see the FLASH or SCSI, then this can be caused by one of a number of things. Often if you have a firewall installed on your PC, this can block the TFTP port that the upgrade program uses to become a boot server for the instrument. Alternatively, another program could be using the same port number preventing the PSA from seeing the PC as a bootable LAN device. Also, if the incorrect LAN hardware address is sent by the firmware upgrade program, this can keep the PSA from seeing the PC as a bootable device. The PSA upgrade program will send an incorrect LAN hardware address if the PSA’s host name is “agilent”; this is a defect in the PSA upgrade program.
If you can’t get your PSA to find the PC as a bootable LAN device even after disabling the Windows firewall or any other firewall software, then please try using a different PC.
I hope this helped -
