Can the tacking generator in the N1996 CSA be used as a cw souce?
I am looking into using the N1996 in an ATE station design and may need a 6GHz source to drive a mixer LO. I need to know if the N1996 source would work.
Thanks,

In fact, the tracking generator of the N1996A can be employed as a CW source. Just use the Single Sweep function! After a single sweep, the frequency will be that given by the Stop Freq setting. Of course, Start Freq must be set to a value below Stop Freq.
