89441A Configuration Save/Recall

I have an 89441A with several installed options. As a matter of principle, I would like to back up the instrument configuration in case I need to restore it someday due to a CPU or NVRAM failure. According to the service manual, there is a function in the service menu to do just this. Unfortunately, when I try to use this function I am unable to save the configuration to a floppy disk, instead getting the error message, "File name is undefined. Please insert the correct disk for the HP89400 CPU/MEMORY Service Utility."

Is there something I'm doing wrong? If I'm trying to create a file, why should the file name be undefined?

On further research, I have found a reference to a service utility disk (p/n 89410-19463). What is the function of this disk, and is this something I must have to backup my configuration settings? Is this disk available anywhere?

Thanks,
Stan
