I tested the scope I have here in the area for support and it took 1:56 seconds to completely boot to the scope application. The time is normal considering the CPU is running at 200MHz and Windows 98 needs to load, then the scope application loads. Not sure what speed your scope has and what operating system. I guess you may not remember that back in the late 1990’s computers took some time to boot up. I they still do today depending on what is loaded.
The performance factor that is important is how the scope works once it is powered up, does it respond in a timely manner when a button or knob is pressed? How about performing measurements?
There are four different CPU clock speeds that were sold with theses scope models and some had Windows 95 then later they were Win 98 operating systems.
As far as if you format the scope. I don’t recommend that! We don’t support these really anymore and there is no recovery media available outside of Agilent Technologies and we don’t provide that too easy either. I would have to request you to send me your Hard Drive and would recover it for you as per the scope it goes into. This won’t help the boot time it will still boot that long.
Have a good Day!
