finding an index in a multi-dim array

Is there a simple way to find indexes in a multi-dimensional array?  Here is an example, I am running a P-1dB sweep over frequency.  The inner dimension is power and the outer is frequency [pwr, freq].  I would like to find the index of the 1dB compression per frequency point so that the output of my equation is a one dimensional matrix with n number of results.  Any simple way of doing this?  The find_index command will not work in multi-dims
