I thought the Single port excited the entire edge of the microstrip whereas the Internal was a point source. I'm surprised the s-parameters would be the same for these two types of excitation if my feed presumption above is correct. I also thought that there were mode mismatch issues at the feed point of the internal port because there's no calibration line which could lead to errors."
