Delay Value for the Reflect of a TRL Calibration

Question asked by cram869 on Feb 22, 2011
In PLTS when I went to set up a TRL calibration kit, there is an entry for the delay for the reflect.  In my current setup the reflect is exactly half the length of the thru. Assuming my reference plane is determined by the thru, should my reflect delay be set to 0 -- relative to the perceived reference plane?  That was my original thought, but when I started looking at the example TRL kit, there was a significant nonzero delay set for the reflect.  So, I thought I would ask to save myself the trouble of experimentation.

Thanks,
Michael
