here I have some problem with implementing Data based cal kit definition on ENA family.

The ENA and cal kit used are E5071B and 85032F with all the characterazed data, i am not sure how to perform a 1-port calibration? could you please give some guidance on this problem?

i don't know the purpose and function of the program. how to deal with the characterized data in the program?

I think the advantage firstly is lower measurement uncertainty than traditional OSL calibration. In our case, the return loss of the DUT is about 42dB, if data based calibration performed, the MU of measuring such a DUT is about 1.5dB which much small than traditional calibration.

besides, another advantage is conveniences,repeatability and reliability than high level TRL calibration.

the difficulty we encountered is programming on ENA to perform the calibration. anyone who could give some guidance? thanks a lot!

Instead to implement the data based cal-kit in instrument, you can move the whole calibration procedure to an external computer. After computing the error coefficients you just download to instrument to calset#. It works for us.

Thanks for your reply. here are two details i am not quite sure.

The first one is "Move the whole calibration procedure to an external computer" as you said. Following is our procedure, in case there is something wrong, please point out.

1. Set the start and stop freq, especially the test points which is same as the CITIFILE file.

2. Measure the value of OPEN, SHORT and LOAD directly.

3. Calculate the error coefficients externally by the matrix(see attached file)

4. Measure the value of the DUT directly.

5. Calculate the actual value of the DUT by the same matrix.

The second one: now we have calculated the error coefficients,

how to download the error coefficients to ENA, any preconditions?
