Greetings all,
I have come into the ownership of a HP 71210C Spec An. My Company was tossing it out because they didn't want to fix it (seems how I acquire most of my test gear). The first and foremost problem with it is the 70001A mainframe power supply is showing a current overload problem. I removed the P/S from the housing, disconnected the blowers and output cabling from the P/S, but it still shows current overload.
I did a physical inspection, there is nothing burnt, all fuses are good, and there isn't anything loose in it. Bad sensing circuit perhaps?
I downloaded the 70001A manual and block diagram from this site and looked it over. It looks like there is supposed to be a second manual with the scats in it, but I can't find it. Anybody know where to get it?
Any ideas on what is wrong with the power supply and a source on a scat would be greatly appreciated.

Take a look at page 38 of the service guide for solving current fault indicator light issues.
http://cp.literature.agilent.com/litweb ... -90060.pdf
Also, page 105 of the same doc has a list of replacement parts for the power supply that may be useful.
I tried a few times to scan the old copy I have here, but it is very hard to read. I've included the PDF in case it is of any use to you.
If that doesn't work for you, the manual you asked about is the 70001A Component Level Information Package, it was sold as part number 70001-90061. There may be an old one available from Agilent, we stopped printing them but I think we kept the old ones around just in case someone needed one.
Best regards,
