Dear Sir,
Can you tell me what is the SI unit of amplitude modulation?
Also the frequency and phase modulation as well?
I wish to know how to put them in the S.I units?
I know all the units are in Hz..hertz over Hertz cancels off leaving a relative value, true?
For the calculation of amplitude, phase and freq modulation using the 8902S system,
it is stated as 3% + 1 digit (what is the digit here- is it the noise floor, resolution or what?)
Appreciate the help.
Also when i state my bmc for the tuned rf level for a certain range..
say for an example my bmc for a tuned rf level measurement from the range 0dB to 10 dB is 0.03 dB,
what does this mean?
Does it mean 0.03dB of the range or the reading?
Rgds

I'm not sure I understand your question, are you asking about the units for modulation index?
If so then you are correct. How the modulation index is calculated depends on the type of modulation, but since a modulation index is a ratio it has no units.
Can you let me know what document you are referring to so I can take a look at it? Without knowing more about it, it probably means +1 on the least significant digit on the display.
Best regards,
