The insertion loss specifications of the 8169A Polarization Controller apply to the connectorless pigtail option. What performance can be expected with a connectorized version?

The difference from the specifications should just be the usual influence due to fiberoptic connector performance. The total insertion loss of the 8169A may typically increase by up to about 0.5dB due to the two connectors. Significant wavelength-dependent variation is not expected from the connectors unless the connection leaves a gap that causes interference oscillations in the transmission spectrum. The variation due to polarization rotation will be normally only influenced by the output connector and up to the PDL of the connector. This is normally very small. An open angled connector can contribute about 0.02dB PDL.
