I have a test station that requires the use of an 8566B with option H35. Can anyone tell me what the option H35 is? I can not find that option in any of the manuals that we have. Thanks for the help.
The 8566B option E35 consists of a standard 85662A IF section and a modified 85660B RF Section. The RF section is designated as option H35 . This modification provides a 321.4 MHz Front panel IF Input and Output for all tuning ranges of the 8566B. The connections for this option are the existing IF IN and IF Out connectors on the front panel which are used in the standard 8566B for external mixing. The modification is that the 321.4 MHz signal path is broken at a place after a filter used to reject unwanted high frequencies. This modification (lack of the filter with the modification) can cause excessive spurs and residuals if the IF in and IF out ports are used for external mixing. Therefore option E35 is not recommended for external mixer operation.
The option H35 retains all standard specification s when the IF In and IF Out connectors are jumpered together (normal non-external mixing configuration).
The 8566B is no longer supported by Agilent Technologies.
Do you still have the HP 8566B? I am looking to purchase a used one and could use a bit of advice. If anyone else sees this and has one or could give some input, please message me.
