USB front panel upgrade?

Question asked by mciholas on Nov 16, 2011
We have four 54832B/D scopes, all with the floppy drive we never use.  The Motorola VP22 motherboard in these scopes has an internal USB connector (CN17, a header on the motherboard).  Is there a kit we can buy to remove the floppy drive and install a front panel USB jack?  That would allow more convenient use of USB flash drives than having to put them in the back panel (awkward!).

It seems like the DSO8000 series have this jack where the floppy drive once was and they are built on what appears to be the same mechanical chassis.  So would the parts they use for the USB jack work in the 54832B/D scopes?  Can I order such parts?
