I am having a small problem with the Agilent DSO80804A scope.
There seems to be some discrepancy with the number of acquired points. I set the number of points to say 120K points, with the :ACQUIRE:COUNT command. Then I even read the number of points back with the :ACQUIRE:COUNT? command and it is set correctly.. (it returns 120K). And the scope displays the correct number of points on the display.
Then I go use the IG CHAN1,CHAN3 command to capture some data.
But when I go to read the preamble back from the DSO, it claims that I have either 1 or 2 million points to read back in the waveform ? I even tried reading back the :ACQUIRE:COUNT? right before retrieving the waveform, but after the IG command.
Any ideas why the scope my be ignoring the count setting ?

Just for the educational value. If you have the sin(x)/x interpolation turned on, it will give you about 15x as many points in the waveform command (all the interpolated values).
