I've got a 54624A scope that won't boot. On power up, it flashes the Edge, Pulse width, Pattern, More trigger mode buttons once in sequence, then does nothing else, and no buttons respond.
I've checked all the power supply voltages and they're within tolerance. The mainboard is producing the proper sync signals for the monitor, but it's just showing a dim raster with retrace lines. None of the signals on the monitor connector look like a video signal. Probing one of the data or address lines on the flash memory chips, the software seems to be stuck in a loop repeating at about 50kHz.
Has anyone seen this problem before? Is there anything I can do to fix it?
Thanks,
David

If it's just a bad solder joint somewhere it would be repairable, but I'd need some clue as to where it is.
