It's funny that I didn't even see it's being mentioned in the SATA standard or in any SATA MOIs (TSG and RSG) what does it stands for. I assume that the first letters stands for transmitter and receiver (w/c is fairly obvious). So let me give it a shot, does TSG/RSG stands for Transmitter/Receiver Signal Group?

RSG stands for receive signal tests using a JBERT, or using a Pattern generator in combination with an error counter. The error counter is a logic analyzer or third party device.
RxTx stands for return lost test using a DCA-J from Agilent with a TDR module.
