Maybe I'm blind, but I'm surprised to not see a Logic Analyzer forum.
I've got two 1680A, and one of them is giving me a BSOD STOP inaccessible boot device error.
It will no longer boot. If I take that drive out and stick it in my other 1680A, the drive boots fine.
I can "restore" from CD to the drive, so I know the motherboard is somewhat working with the drive, but after restoring, it get the error.
Any thoughts?

In your particular instance, I really would suspect the motherboard because your HDD
booted just fine in your other 1680 machine.
But , allow me, please, to expound a bit more about your motherboards and the
disaster recovery that you performed.
If your 1680 has serial number MY41000101-MY41000699 then it is Windows 2000 Pro
and has a Tyan motherboard.
If you 1680 has serial number MY41000701-MY41000799 then it is windows 2000 Pro
and has the Radisys motherboard.
The Disaster Recovery for a Windows 2000 Pro unit 'appears' to be coming from the CD to the HDD.
But, in actuality, the boot from CD merely initiates a copy from a hidden partition on the HDD to the visible parition.
That would mean that a HDD replacement would require a formatted HDD with the bits already on it.
The part number that you would want for a Tyan motherboard would be 01680-83510 and this will be an 80 GB HDD.
If you have the Radisys motherboard, please post that an email to http://disceval/icare and I will respond.
But, I am actually on vacation for one week so I won't be ble to get back to you until 05Aug09 .
If you believe that the Tyan motherboard is bad, it turns out that there are no longer any Tyan motherboards
available.
Agilent offers a Hardware Support Kit, part number 01680-68720, which would upgrade you motherboard
to the latest one which was shipped and upgrade your HDD to an 80 GB HDD and upgrade your machine with
a copy of Windows XP Pro and the COA, of course.
This will make your 1680 much, much faster than the old Tyan or Radisys motherboard, but it is more costly.
An Agilent Repair Center can install it for you if you wish, but they are more costly than if you do it yourself.
And, I presume that you can do it yourself in just a couple hours.
If you sent an email to http://disceval/icare , I could email you the installation instructions so that you
cuold better determine just how difficult you think that it is.
Most 1680s shipped with Windows XP Pro and teh Disaster Recovery PRocedure for them actually does
copy from the CD onto the HDD.
A unit with serial number MY41000801-MY41000899 had a Radisys motherboard.
A unit with serial number MY41000901-MY41001099 had a Motorola VP22 motherboard.
A unit with serial number MY41001101-later had an Adlink M-815G motherboard.
Al of these units would take a raw unformatted HDD part number 0950-5026 which is 80 GB and less expensive
because it is unformatted.
One then performs a Disaster Recovery PRocedure frmo a CD set to place the bits onto the HDD.
The Radisys .iso image is PN 01680-14100 .
The Motorola VP22 .iso image is PN 01680-14104 .
The Adlink .iso image is PN 01680-14106 .
Again, send an email and I can get you the .iso image so you can burn your own or we can ship you media (free).
But, I am leaning towards thinking that your motherboard is ailing.
