I'm looking into Agilent's FPGA dynamic probe for use with my MSOs. Anyone have any experience with the tools? I use both Xilinx and Altera FPGAs.
Specifically I'm wondering how to measure bus acitivity using the timing channels on the MSO. I don't have access to a logic analyzer, but really need to trigger on and capture state information (state machines & buses).

We've never used the ATC2 timing core, but use the ATC2 state core with our MSO. Probe the ATC2 clk signal with one of the MSO's digital channels. You can trigger on states by selecting appropriate ATC2 clk edge AND a pattern. In the waveform display you can then see valid states (on the clock edge). Agilent MSO8000 series allows you to filter out invalid states using "state clock" mode so only valid states are shown. Makes the MSO feel like a logic analyzer.
