54600A triggering problem

I have a 54600 scope that I was using for motor control monitoring the H bridge. I believe that I damaged the trigger input because I did something with out the protection across the motor. The scope works fine but does not trigger. It can trigger from external input however. Does anyone know what is likely to be blown. I probably put a 1000 v spike into Channel one and two. The scope displays and measures fine but will not trigger properly (unless I use external triggering) I would like to fix it, I have just downloaded the component level zip file. Thanks in advance
