I have a DSO3102A scope which I would like to trigger/read via USB. When I plugged in the scope for the first time it was detected by Windows and the DSO3000 software that came with the unit seems to work fine.
However, when I try to set up a connection of my own I cannot detect the scope to set up a VISA name. I have tried both National Instruments Measurement & Automation program and Agilent's Connection Expert software and both show the USB bus as empty.
Any suggestions?

driver. This is why you can't set up a VISA connection to the scope.
I am posting a document that describes one user's attempt at controlling
the DSO3000 using USB. This document is intended for Linux users
and is not supported or endorsed by Agilent. We will not entertain
any questions about this methodology.
