PNA - Introduction of CSAR!

Been using a number of PNAs for a few years now via the SCPI interface. We've been setting up the instrument, performing a calibration then saving the instrument state and the calibration data using
:MMEM:STOR:CST 'c:\calfiles\file1'

We've now got another (newer) PNA and i see that in the newer version of the firmware the functionality of this command has changed. CST now saves the instrument state and a LINK to the calibration data. A new command (CSAR) has been created which performs the same function as the old CST command.

If you are going to create a new function for the PNA to perform, why not create a new command set! I'd have thought backwards compatibility with older firmwares would have been high on your list of priorities?

In light of this new command; how would you suggest i overcome this issue? I have one suite of software which has to work on both firmware revisions. What version of firmware first introduced this new command set?

Thank you for your time.
