Obsolete SCPI Commands

The calibration correction commands have changed in the last revision of the PNA firmware
Calc:Data SCORR -> SENS:CORR:CSET:DATA

As you'd expect, this has messed up my program considerably!
I can change to the new codes, but what happens if my program is used by someone who has an older firmware revision?

Are there commands to check the firmware version so that I can put an If statement in to choose which way to send the calibration data?

How often do commands change or get made obsolete?
My manager needs to how likely it is to know whether we need to budget for code changing for things like this.
