I'm trying to find out the uncertainty in marker search measurements, in particular the frequency measurement, on an E5061A. The DUT is frequency swept several times to quantify the random errors, but I'm unsure how the systematic errors should be treated. I've looked at the downloadable VNA uncertainty calculator, but I don't know how to relate the mag and phase errors to frequency errors.

In this case, the S11 uncertainty could be translated into maximum shift in the appearance of the minimum, and from that a max frequency error could be obtained.

So, as you can see by the example above, the question greatly depends upon what your are measuring, and what you are searching for with the marker. To get a better answer than that, you would need to elaborate on your applicaiton.
