Hello. I am now using your 8164B laser instrument and the N7745A optical power meter.
BNC cable was used for trigger, 8164B Output trigger connected to N7745A Input trigger.
I was using "sens1:func:result?" command to get optical power values from PWM. I received the data #48004ffffff. I try to convert the "fffff" to correct data, but it didn't work out. Bye the way, I have converted the wavelength values from TLS successfully by "sour0:read:data? llog" command.
Hi Benjamin,
This forum is intended for RF power meters. Questions for the optical instruments are more likely to be noticed in the photonic forum here: Photonic | Keysight Community
That has a couple threads already that could be related to your question.

From the looks of your first power value with all the 'ff' bytes, I'd guess that the signal may be in underflow or overflow. For example, if the units are set to dBm instead of mW and there is no signal, then if zeroing has not been done recently and there is a zero offset, the power value in mW could be slightly negative which cannot be converted to a dBm value.
Best regards,
Mike
