Why do I loose calibration data on my HP8752A when switched off

Question asked by Eric003 on Sep 30, 2020

I recently acquired a HP8752A. This is a wonderful VNA.

But I have a Question:

Each time when I have stored a calibration in internal memory I loose the entire calibration data when the VNA is switched OFF. When switched ON again all cal data are lost. When I keep the VNA running , I always can access the calibration at all times, even with a PRESET.

-- Is this behaviour normal ?

I also checked that the internal buffered RAM had its 5V by the capacitor shich buffers the RAM. The capacitor keeps its Volatage even over days.

-- If the CAL-data are not stored in internal buffered RAM where are they then stored ?

Has anyone an idea what goes wrong or I do wrong ?
