Hi Community, I would like to replace the port coupler (HP5086-7489) on my old VNA . It is possible to find the part on internet, but I have not found the instructions about how to strip the unit in order to replace the port. Does anyone know?

Hi Dave,
I am definitely interested.
I have a business proposal for you. Can I send you a mail at
jive-1036659558-rxw-2-21i8@mail.keysight.jiveon.com? I would like to
move this conversation outside the community thread.

You will need to remove both top and bottom covers, then remove the cover over the CRT keypad and then the CRT bezel assy. Remove the front panel assy. Now you will see the RF cables the go from the bottom to the top of the unit. Remove the clamp for the cables on the front sub-chassis. Disconnect the RF cables at the RF samplers on top. Disconnect the RF cable to the RF source on top.
Turn the unit over and remove the screws for the RF drawer on the bottom. It will have the couplers, switch. Once loose slide the drawer forward carefully. You should now be able to remove the coupler. Reverse order to install.
On a side note, be careful those particular parts on Ebay. Many are bad. I can replace and test the coupler for you for $399. PM me if you are interested.
Regards,
Dave
