I am using my 8563EC at home. It used to reset a couple of times as it warms up. Now it is resetting all the time. Occasionally when it works it is fine.. until it resets again. Any ideas? supply on the edge?
Sounds like the overcurrent sense circuit in the power supply is acting up. This could be one of the components in the circuit itself failing, or there is a board causing issues, drawing more current then normal. I assume that when it was running, it was OK with no errors, if so, so my first statement would be more accurate. Keysight's repair strategy on this power supply is replacement. You may want to call the help center to see if you can schedule it for repair.
Hope this helps,
Thanks for the reply. I have taken the power supply out, and having found a bulging capacitor 470u 200V. I am replacing the 4 caps first.
What you say about over current seems to fit. When working it is great. One error that does come up sometimes in the start-up cycle is ERR707 ROM U308.
If all else fails I will consider a replacement PSU, and possible A2 controller assy?
The caps are a good start. Error 707 would indicate either a bad A2/EEROM, or possibly just corrupt data. The power supply may have caused that. After repair, the unit should go through all alignments (and must finish successfully) to cure errors. Error 700 may also appear as a general "memory" error. If they disappear after the power supply is working, then you got it! Good luck
