Hi All,
I am potentially a new Vee user. Clearly Win10 is not supported. I am considering buying Vee and using Win8. Is this forum still reasonably active for helping a new Vee user?
Are there other forums?
Thanks

Hi Stan,
Thanks for that prompt reply, very encouraging. I worked with a Vee enthusiast, that's why I am interested.
My reason for going for Win8 was the Keysight rep. really didn't want to sell me Vee to use on Win10. He felt that it didn't really work that well in Win10. So perhaps Win8 or Win8 on a virtual machine to run Vee with no issues.

Not sure what Keysight's rep was thinking of, but Win 10 works just fine for virtually everyone in this forum and on VRF. The 9.33 final release took care of pretty much all the remaining issues and actually does support Windows 10. As for a VM- that's OK but of course limits the IO that you can do- as in no interface cards. No problem I suppose if you are only doing LAN work and your company allows Win8 on their network. I'd suggest starting in Win10 and only going elsewhere if you find an issue.

There's this forum and there's VRF (veeos.org/support/vrf.htm). Both are relatively quiet these days but still have some amount of traffic. VRF will generally get you to the remaining experts better and faster. And there's the veeos website (veeos.org) which is a repository for accumulated VEE knowledge as well as providing an add-on library.
As for Win8-- unless you have a reason for Win8, the final version 9.33 is supported under Windows 10 and is probably the best bet.
Welcome to the VEE world!
Stan
