Hello,
I have a situation where my ILPDL client is unable to recognize N7748A PWM connected via GPIB for PDL sweep measurement. It can only Detect Tunable Laser 81608A and PolSyn N7786B, while my IL Client can detect PWM and LAS source without problem. ILPDL client Version Installed is '3.0.4.3'.

Ashesh
Hi Ashesh,
It’s correct that the ILPDL software does not support the N7748A. This is primarily because the 20kHz switching rate of the polarization used for the PDL measurements is too fast for the analog bandwidth of the N7748A (5kHz at the higher power ranges and only 300 Hz at the ranges that give higher sensitivity than the N7744C, N7745C, N7744A or N7745A, which are supported.). The N7748A is supported by the FSIL software, which also provides stitching of sweeps using more than 1 power range to provide higher dynamic range, like 80-100dB.
Note that the N7744C and N7745C now replace the N7744A and N7745A, and provide faster data transfer and range switching, so the stitching function mentioned above is significantly faster, especially using the 2-way sweeps of the tunable lasers.
Best regards,
Mike
