Thanks for the response,
I’m attempting to build a custom cal kit. I was attempting to open an existing kit and save as a custom kit. I can see all the cal kits loaded on the analyzer but when I attempt to open one I get a warning that the xkt is not a valid cal kit file.
Should I be able to open a blank cal kit editor to build a cal kit from scratch?
DataLink and .net 3.5 are loaded, is there anything else that we need to load?
We’ve attempted with multiple analyzers with the same result.
We may have to troubleshoot your system because it works for me just fine. Send me an email at
afsi_moaveni @ keysight.com (take the spaces out) and we'll see if we can figure it out.
Also I have attached a sample xkt cal kit file. Try opening it from Data Link's File Open.
I assume you have the latest Data Link? Though we haven't changed the cal kit editing in a long time.

You could uninstall and re-install Data Link to see if it solves the problem.
I see the attachment program added a .zip extension. Just delete the .zip. It's not a zipped file. It's 85032B.xkt.
I can't get to my main computer right now to check this, but it should work. I'll test it tomorrow.
Are you trying to edit one of cal kits that are already loaded onto FieldFox? or is this a custom cal kit?
You can also save a cal kit file to your computer or USB drive and try and open it that way. The cal kit editor is the same as the standalone editor that used to be available for PNA or ENA, in case you have that. FieldFox reads the same xkt files that other Keysight VNAs read.
But again, I will test it out tomorrow to see if there is an issue with Data Link.
