Hi, I am using 81600B TLS and 81653A dual-power sensor to characterize some photonic chips. I have knowledge of how to setup continous sweeping using this setup using logging function of the sensor and continous mode of the TLS.
The problem is that, now I need this setup to work with an external dc supply, for instance, keithley 2400. The wavelength of TLS would be fixed while sweeping the voltage of the dc supply (~10000 steps). The dc supply is supposed to work in sweep mode in order to dramatically reduce the time and it will generate trigger signal. So I need the dc supply and the 81635a sensor to synchronize through trigger. how to do this?
Thanks so much!
Hi maybe you've gotten this already while I was out, since it should be similar to how you have synchronized the power meter with the tunable laser. You can set up the logging function of the power meter in the same way, choosing the number of samples and the averaging time of each sample. Then using the SME input triggering, the samples can be taken at the point when the power supply sends the triggers. The commands for the power meter will be similar to those used in the application note linked from this thread.
