Turning off a VNA?

I have an E5071C, and the standard method to turn if off is to press the white "Standby Switch" button on the lower-left corner on the front panel. If a user turns it off by going through the software process (the Windows OS standard shutdown procedure) without pressing the button (i.e. leaving it in its pressed position), and disconnects the power cable, will it do any harm to the VNA?

In short, is the standard turning-off method (by pressing the white button) the same as shutting down the Windows OS? Since the latter method also seems to turn every hardware units (fans,... etc.) off. Thank you.

(I asked only because there are sometimes some users who forget the standard turning-off procedure and use the Windows OS instead.)
