Hi,
I used the mechanical calibration standards to perform SOLT calibration, and I want to know the residual errors. Can I use the data from the calibration standard user's Guide(some electrical specifications) to caculate the residual errors? or only by ripple method to measure the residual errors?
Thanks a lot!
It depends upon the kit data you are speaking about, but normally the kit data (like phase of open or short) is much worse than the actual residuals, and if you use them, you will get much larger uncertainty than is real. Using a precision airline is the best way to determine the residuals of your cal kit, which normally is limited by the quality of the load.
