Hi , dear specialist
im doing a smc mixer calibration,
there is a step that power cal setting which you can see a item that is De-embed adapter, right now, out mixer is a hormonic mixer, the RF input is waveguide port. and IF output is coxial port, my power sensor port is a coxial port though, so, how do i deal with this place: de-embed adapter, DUT port is different from sensor port
if you only have one power sensor with a coaxial connector, then you have to your SMC calibration at the coaxial reference plane and de-embed the waveguide adapter in the calibration and then you can physically add the waveguide adapter after the calibration is complete. in the SMC guided calibration you should be able to see this check box on the first page of the cal wizard:
and when you check it, the next page will look like this:
here, you can specify the S2P file for your adapter and it will de-embed it for you after you do the rest of the cal at coaxial connector that matches your power sensor.
However, if you happen to have 2 power sensors (one with a matching waveguide connector and one coaxial), then you choose the 2nd check box that says "Independent power cals for input and output port (no Thru). if you choose that, you also need to have the waveguide S-Parameter calibration kit that matches your waveguide connector, because you will have to do a 1-port calibration at the Waveguide interface.
