I have a E4438C,recently the unit started developing issues with the motherboad,i replace U901 AT45DB081B,it works however the serial# lose, and it display 617 configure error. What information does the flash contain? And how do i do?
I'm afraid you would have to send it in to be reprogrammed. The flash contains the serial# in an encrypted form, and all of the instrument's configuration is linked to the serial#. I suggest putting the original eeprom back in. What was the problem that caused you to replace the eeprom?
The instrument power off after pressing Utility>Instrument Adjustment>Service Adjustment>Backup System Files. Then I turn the power on and it appears to be dead.It stops at verifying MB_FLASH.So I replace the eeprom. It now can complete the power-on sequence.I find the Service Note E8257D-15 617 configuration error.I think it's helpful to me.Now my E4438C's cpu can't recognize the motherboard. Is it the reason of the 617configuration error? At first the cpu can recognize the motherboard. The motherboard can be seen in installed board information. But its status is missing. Now its information can't be seen in installed board information. But the motherboard is properly installed. What should I do?Reinstall the motherboard and the cpu board?
Many thanks in advice!
I'm afraid the software used to reprogram the flash memory is proprietary. The serial number needs to be loaded, files structures established, and an encrypted configuration file that contains model, hardware, and operating limits needs to be loaded. This can only be done at a Keysight Service Center.
