I was wondering if there was a way that the NWA could be used to identify PIM problems. I know PIM usually occurs at higher powers where junctions/discontinuities are under stress but I was thinking that if you selected the electrical transmission then adjusted the electrical delay you could calculate the length of the discontinuites as not all may be at obvious junctions.

If high power was required then you could use a dual coupler at the input and output of the filter to allow the NWA to do the measurement.

Is this feasable or is there a btter way to work out the phase distortion?
