TCP/IP replace GPIB

Hi:
I used gpib to control the e5071, the software works without any problem now. But now, I want to use the TCP/IP to replace the gpib to control e5071. The questions as below:

1. If can use the tip/ip to control the e5071?
2. If the tcp/ip control commands are the same as the gipb, such as: :SENS1:CORR:COLL:METH:SOLT1 1, *WAI, :SENS1:CORR:COLL:OPEN 1 and so on.
3. I think the e5071 is the server and my software is the client in the tcp/ip connection, is it?
4. The cable between the e5071 and PC is as the cable bewteen Router and PC, or the cable between the two PCs?
5.  Pls give me some suggestions to do this control.

BTW, I use vc++ to do this control. Thanks a lot!!
