IF Bandwidth Setting For Mixer Measurement

I want to measure a mixer in upconverter mode using the PNA E8364B SMC cal wizard.

IF = 1.1 - 1.4GHz,
LO = 2GHz
RF = 3.1 - 3.4 GHz

I used a IF bandwidth of 1   KHz and my conversion loss is -22 dB.
I used a IF bandwidth of 35 KHz and my conversion loss is -8.5 dB.

According to mixer spec, the SSB conversion loss should be ~ -8 dB typical. So it seems like I should use an IF bandwidth of 35KHz. But I want to understand what criteria determines the setting for IF bandwidth?

Generally, smaller the IF bandwidth lower the trace noise and better accuracy. But in this case it seems the higher IF bandwidth is the right setting.
